Manganui first NZ ski area to open for 2009 113 hits
Manganui Ski Area on the slopes of Mt Taranaki was the first New Zealand ski area to open for the 2009 winter season.  The first official lift ride was on Tuesday 12th May, an unexpectedly early start following a storm set that brought over a meter of snow

New NZSIA Telemark Qualifications 137 hits
NZSIA Telemark offers three different levels of certification within two courses. The old Telemark Stage One is now called Level Two and we offer an alternative entry-level certification for those that are not able to reach the Level Two standards

The year was 1868, the location was Christiania (Oslo) in Norway. Sondre Norheim of Morgedal, Telemark competed and won a major ski competition with technique, equipment and skills that blew away the competition and astounded the huge crowd gathered there to watch
